When the \u00c5kesson family, with father Ingvar and mother Gunnel, were growing up in Blockhuset (see the small brown house to the left behind the bushes), the house eventually became too small. When the couple\u2019s third child was born in 1958, Ingvar and Gunnel decided to move into this villa, which we call Ljungkullen. The house had originally been built by Henric \u00c5kesson, Ingvar\u2019s grandfather, but it required extensive renovation before the family could move in.<\/p>

Before Ingvar and Gunnel moved in, Henric \u00c5kesson had planted fruit trees at Ljungkullen. Some of these trees are still standing behind us in our heritage orchard and are now more than 100 years old.<\/p>

Today, Ljungkullen serves as the office for those of us who work here. It feels special to work in what was once the family\u2019s living room, bedrooms, dining room and other spaces, where many important decisions about the business were made over several generations.<\/p>

Ljungkullen therefore remains very much a part of Kiviks Musteri\u2019s daily operations, and in this way, the history of the place continues to live on.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

You are now standing in front of a house that Ingvar \u00c5kesson, the third generation at Kiviks Musteri, had built for his wife, Gunnel.<\/p>

Ingvar and Gunnel first met at the age of 17 at a dance in Vitaby, just outside Kivik, on a Saturday evening in 1941. After an evening filled with dancing and conversation, they decided to keep in touch through letters, as Gunnel was then working as a nanny in Zurich.<\/p>

Six years later, Ingvar surprised Gunnel with a visit to Switzerland. While rowing on Lake Zurich, he presented her with a summer skirt to see whether she would be pleased. When he saw how happy it made her, he found the courage to bring out his second package, which contained a wedding ring. Delighted, Gunnel accepted his proposal and happily agreed to become his wife.<\/p>

Ingvar was a man of many ideas, and when he took over the cider mill in 1950, he was determined to modernise both the orchards and the production facilities. Another of his projects was to build a small house from hewn timber, complete with a thatched roof, handcrafted woodwork and a built in south facing balcony, inspired by the alpine chalets of the Swiss highlands.<\/p>

The house was named Blockhuset, and it is the very house standing before you today. Ingvar and Gunnel lived here until the birth of their third child, when they moved to the larger house, Ljungkullen, just behind it.<\/p>

Today, Blockhuset is used as a meeting room, while also serving as a reminder of Ingvar and Gunnel\u2019s first years together.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Als die Familie \u00c5kesson mit Vater Ingvar und Mutter Gunnel im Blockhuset (siehe das kleine braune Haus links hinter dem Geb\u00fcsch) lebte, wurde das Haus mit der Zeit zu klein. Als 1958 das dritte Kind des Ehepaars geboren wurde, beschlossen Ingvar und Gunnel, in diese Villa umzuziehen, die wir Ljungkullen nennen. Das Haus war urspr\u00fcnglich von Henric \u00c5kesson, Ingvars Gro\u00dfvater, erbaut worden, ben\u00f6tigte jedoch eine umfassende Renovierung, bevor die Familie dort einziehen konnte.<\/p>

Bevor Ingvar und Gunnel nach Ljungkullen zogen, hatte Henric \u00c5kesson dort Obstb\u00e4ume gepflanzt. Einige dieser B\u00e4ume stehen noch heute hinter uns in unserer historischen Obstkulturanlage und sind inzwischen \u00fcber 100 Jahre alt.<\/p>

Heute dient Ljungkullen als B\u00fcro f\u00fcr uns, die wir hier arbeiten. Es ist ein besonderes Gef\u00fchl, in R\u00e4umen zu arbeiten, die einst das Wohnzimmer, die Schlafzimmer, das Esszimmer und weitere Wohnr\u00e4ume der Familie waren und in denen \u00fcber mehrere Generationen hinweg zahlreiche Entscheidungen f\u00fcr das Unternehmen getroffen wurden.<\/p>

Ljungkullen ist somit bis heute ein wichtiger Teil des t\u00e4glichen Betriebs von Kiviks Musteri. Auf diese Weise lebt die Geschichte dieses Ortes weiter.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Sie stehen nun vor einem Haus, das Ingvar \u00c5kesson, die dritte Generation von Kiviks Musteri, f\u00fcr seine Frau Gunnel bauen lie\u00df.<\/p>

Ingvar und Gunnel lernten sich 1941 im Alter von 17 Jahren auf einem Tanzabend in Vitaby bei Kivik kennen. Nach einem Abend voller Tanz und angeregter Gespr\u00e4che beschlossen sie, miteinander zu korrespondieren, da Gunnel damals als Kinderm\u00e4dchen in Z\u00fcrich arbeitete.<\/p>

Sechs Jahre sp\u00e4ter \u00fcberraschte Ingvar Gunnel mit einem Besuch in der Schweiz. In einem Ruderboot auf dem Z\u00fcrichsee schenkte er ihr einen Sommerrock, um zu sehen, ob sie sich dar\u00fcber freuen w\u00fcrde. Als er bemerkte, wie gl\u00fccklich sie dar\u00fcber war, fasste er den Mut, sein zweites Paket hervorzuholen. Darin befand sich ein Ehering, und Gunnel beantwortete seine Frage, ob sie seine Frau werden wolle, voller Freude mit Ja.<\/p>

Ingvar hatte viele Ideen, und als er 1950 die Mosterei \u00fcbernahm, wollte er sowohl den Obstanbau als auch die Mosterei modernisieren. Ein weiteres Projekt war der Bau eines kleinen Hauses aus Blockholz mit Reetdach, handwerklichen Holzdetails und einem nach S\u00fcden ausgerichteten, eingebauten Balkon \u2013 fast wie eine Almh\u00fctte im Schweizer Hochland.<\/p>

Das Haus erhielt den Namen Blockhuset, und genau vor diesem Haus stehen Sie heute. Hier lebten Ingvar und Gunnel, bis ihr drittes Kind geboren wurde. Danach zogen sie in das gr\u00f6\u00dfere Haus Ljungkullen, das sich gleich hier hinter dem Haus befindet.<\/p>

Heute wird das Blockhuset als Besprechungsraum genutzt.
