Fairview Broken Barrel

Broken Barrel is a fruity, flavourful wine with oak character and notes of dark berries, a hint of pepper, liquorice, vanilla and chocolate. The grapes were harvested at the end of February. The wine was aged for one year and two months in 225-litre French oak barrels. A third of the barrels were one year old, a third two years old and a third three years old. The must fermented in stainless steel tanks, with the skins pumped over several times a day. After fermentation the wine was racked for malolactic conversion and ageing.
