Toi Toi Marlborough Pinot Noir is an elegant, berry-rich wine with notes of raspberry and cherry. The wine also shows a light spiciness, fine herbal notes and a long finish. The grapes for this wine come from the Calrossie vineyard on the water side of Weld’s Pass. This location gives the grapes complexity and rich fruit, and is ideal for growing Pinot Noir. The soil is a mix of loess and clay interspersed with fine gravel. The can shows the pohutukawa flower. In summer the coast is lined with trees covered in these beautiful red flowers, and the pohutukawa is often called “New Zealand’s Christmas tree”. Marlborough is New Zealand’s largest wine region and lies on the north-eastern tip of the South Island.
